Frequently Asked Questions

When should I order my wedding stationery?

We would advise you to order invitations at least a few months before the wedding. this will allow you to send your invitations a couple of months prior to the wedding  giving your guests plenty of notice. If your wedding is on a bank holiday, in the summer holidays or you are inviting guests from abroad, allow longer.

How long will it take to receive my wedding stationery?

We aim to deliver your wedding stationery 2-3 weeks after you have signed off proofs, but this may increase in busy times. If you require your wedding stationery sooner please call to discuss.

When do I need to pay for my wedding stationery?

The Wedding Invitation Boutique makes all your stationery by hand and therefore payment is required in full at the time of order.

What payment methods do you accept?

You can pay online using Paypal, even if you do not have a Paypal account, you can just pay by your credit/debit card using the Paypal facility, without even registering. Alternatively, you can use the website to order and then send a cheque or arrange a bank transfer, choosing the "send payment by post" option at the checkout.

Can I request a  Wedding Invitation sample?

Should you like to see the quality of our wedding stationery, you can order samples of any wedding invitations on the stationery design page.  There is a charge for each sample, dependent on the design type and does not necessarily reflect the cost of the actual wedding invitation.

Is there a minimum order requirement?

There is currently no minimum order value, but I ask that you order at least 10 of items that need personalisation ( excepting guestbooks, table plans and table number cards!)

Please also be aware that changes to supplies may mean that subsequent orders may vary slightly. Always have a few extra to allow for mistakes or additional guests.

Can I change a wedding invitation design?

All our wedding stationery is hand made and we are happy to adjust designs to meet your requirements. If you would like jewel embellishments and they are not offered or you would like a different colour, just let us know!

Do I need to order all my wedding stationery at the same time?

No, you can order your invitations first and then make another order for "on the day" wedding stationery or should you run out of invitations, you can always order a few more, but we recommend that you order a few extra to allow for mistakes. Please also be aware that changes to supplies may mean that subsequent orders vary slightly.

How do I know that the text on my wedding stationery will be correct?

You will be sent PDF proofs of the text that will be shown on your wedding stationery inserts in an email and we will not proceed until we have received confirmation that you are happy for us to do so.

What happens if there is a mistake on my wedding stationery when I receive my order?

Proof reading is very important and the customer’s responsibility, please double check that you have got the wording and spelling correct. Is there set wording that I should use on my wedding invitations?

No, but this wedding invitation wording guide may help you understand what can be included and the etiquette involved.

How do I assemble my wedding invitations?

There is, as you would expect, an etiquette to how you pack your wedding invitations and matching RSVPs and inserts. You receive all your stationery items from us, what do you do with them?

  1. All the pieces of stationery should be placed with the smallest item on top and the largest at the bottom. If you have pieces of stationery the same size then the most important piece i.e. the invitation should be uppermost.
  2. The Invitation and all additional inserts are placed in the envelope so that they are facing printed side up when pulled out of the envelope with your guests right hand.
  3. All of the items should be placed inside the invitation envelope and this should be addressed to the guests, clearly stating all the names of the people invited, unless you have written this on the invitation itself.
  4. If you are including an RSVP card, this should be tucked under the flap of the envelope, not inside it and it is correct to stick a stamp on ( you may want to pass on this to save your budget!)
